FMX 2020 Conference Has Been Canceled-Corona virus.

FMX 2020 Conference Has Been Canceled-Corona virus.

The FMX Conference on Animation, Effects, Games and Immersive Media has just canceled their upcoming May 5-8 because of the worldwide coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic.

Dear partners, guests, speakers, and visitors,

It is with great regret that we have to inform you that this year’s FMX, scheduled for May 5 to 8, 2020, cannot take place due to the continuing global spreading of the Coronavirus.

Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg is acting upon the current guidelines of the Robert Koch-Institut for the risk assessment of large-scale events. After the consultation, the Office for Public Order of Stuttgart considers the decision to cancel FMX as being plausible in the light of infection prevention.

Taking this step has been very difficult for us but necessary as the health of our international and national partners, guests, speakers, visitors, and team members is our highest priority.

We hope for your understanding and look forward to welcoming you at the 25th-anniversary edition of FMX from May 4 to 7, 2021, in Stuttgart.

Sincerely,

Prof. Thomas Schadt (CEO of Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg), Prof. Andreas Hykade (Conference Chair FMX), Heike Mozer, Joachim Genannt, and the FMX team
