philm CGI, an Animation and VFX studio based in Pune recently celebrated their 8th anniversary. Founded by Anand Bhanushali and Arpan Gaglani
philm CGI has grown steadily over the years and with more and more demand for content in Animation and VFX they have seen amazing growth and opportunities.
philm CGI, is known for their quality content and timely deliveries, introduced Work From Home and Hybrid timelines during the pandemic. In 2020 they made the process more advanced and artist-friendly and since the beginning of 2021 the same has become a strong and core foundation for our Work From Home Pipeline making working on projects simpler and efficient.
This year also marked a milestone for the company as they expanded their foothold in South India by launching their studio in Thrissur, Kerala. They have team strength of over 100 artists working on VFX as well as CG Animation projects from Kerala.
Philm CGI worked on some unique animation series which released globally in 2021 like –
Xilam Animation’s “Where’s Chicky” is a slapstick comedy with a rare style of CG animation where Chicky is an adorable, irresistible little chick who discovers a new place and an unknown object in each of his adventures. The series quickly won hearts as they reached 5M TikTok subscribers, more than 100M monthly views globally on their Youtube account and also entered the platform’s top five accounts for licensed kids’ brands.
Swedish-German animated family adventure film by Arri Media movie “The Ogglies – Welcome to Smelliville!” got alot of critical acclamation. The story is about the Oggly family that arrive at the municipal rubbish dump of Smelliville looking for a new home but the place has a stinky problem.
Next on the list is Xilam Animation’s “Oggy Oggy” , a French CGI animated streaming television series. This is about the adorable kitten Oggy and his cast of cat pals in a bright and colorful kitty world. They’re always on the go for fun times and fantastic adventures! Released on Netflix, this series was made with unique stylized stop motion animation.
Lastly, recently released was their VFX project and a Netflix Original Series “Decoupled” starring R Madhavan and Surveen Chawla, an unfiltered dremedy.
