Nyad is a 2023 American biographical sports drama film directed by Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin, from a screenplay written by Julia Cox. It stars Annette Bening as swimmer Diana Nyad, alongside Jodie Foster and Rhys Ifans. The film is Vasarhelyi and Chin’s narrative feature directorial debut and is based on Nyad’s autobiography Find a Way.
It had its world premiere at the 50th Telluride Film Festival on September 1, 2023. It was released in select theaters on October 20, 2023, before streaming on Netflix on November 3.
