5,000 visual effects artists have worked around from the world, from various VFX houses, including Los Angeles, New Zealand, Montreal, Vancouver, and Melbourne. The VFX houses included Sony Pictures Imageworks, Weta Digital, Rodeo-FX, Method Studios, Illoura, and Crafty Apes, plus some others did over 1900 shots for the movie.

The concept designs for the various new animals, such as the ostriches, the mandrills, camels, giant anacondas, horses, mandrills, and hyenas were initially done by Weta Workshop in New Zealand.

The ostrich sequences were done by Sony Pictures Imageworks

sony pictures Imageworks used Ziva for the ostrich muscle simulations. From the Ziva sims and walk cycles, the team also generated all the footprints, dust and sand interaction This was filmed in a National Park
