The team was given a great amount of creative freedom on this project working closely with CEO and co-founder Dom Santry and facilitated the creative process throughout. From the script to unique character development, as well as design and backgrounds, the Mill+ team led by Director Kwok Fung Lam, attributed a great level of detail to the overall aesthetic of this charismatic animation.
Mill+ Director Kwok Fung Lam writes ‘The film didn’t need to be an explainer video on how the app works, but rather an overview of what Daisie is. We wanted to show how Daisie helps our young musician and main protagonist Shiba to collaborate with others and build his network.
Working closely with animator Rogie Custodio, we designed the suite of bespoke characters each representing their respective industries with relevant props and outfits matching to each field. Our two key characters loosely represent Daisie’s co-founders Dom Santry (Shiba dog) and Maisie Williams (Owl).
A team of animators created the animation by drawing digitally frame by frame, bringing the film to life. We used Adobe After Effects to bring everything together, adding finishing touches such as lighting effects, textures and atmosphere.’
