Famous Studios and Variate Studio announce Strategic Partnership to Transform VFX Landscape
- Famous and Variate aim to build on existing capabilities and offer an end to end solution for VFX and CGI
- Expansion of Mumbai facility and launch of new Hyderabad facility in July, 2023

With an increasing demand for high-quality VFX in films, OTT and other long format content, Famous and Variate have formed a partnership to build a strong and creative VFX and audio visual post production pipeline to deliver high quality VFX & CGI with an end-to-end offering that will include, pre-production, pre-viz, on-set supervision, VFX production, audiovisual post production, mastering & QC.
As part of this initiative, we are thrilled to have Vishwas Savanur, Founder & Creative Director and Sandhya VS, Creative Producer of Variate Studio, on board as our partners. Vishwas recently won the Best VFX award for Rocket Boys at the Film Fare OTT Awards and ITA Awards 2023, which is a testament to his talent and creativity.

About Variate Studio
Variate Studio was established in 2020 by Filmfare awardee Creative Director, Vishwas Suvanur and Sandhya V S to offer end to end comprehensive VFX support for long format projects. As experienced VFX Producers, Variate has worked closely with film producers and directors to deliver the best VFX for films and OTT shows such as Rocket Boys, Mumbai Diaries, Baahubali 2 and Kedarnath. Team Variate schedules and manages all VFX production output, project workflows, and handles the development of SOWs, VFX timelines, and budgets associated with the project.
- Vishwas Savanur – VFX Director
With over 25 years of experience in VFX and CGI, Vishwas specializes in the latest CGI technologies and practical VFX production planning. He has extensive knowledge of visual effects techniques, with a focus on camera set-ups, film and composition. Vishwas works closely with Producers, DOPs, and teams to ensure efficient and high-quality VFX projects from pre-production to post-production. He has served as a creative head on films and shows such as Baahubali 2, Kedarnath, Judgemental Hai Kya, Rocket Boys and Sahoo.
- Sandhya V S – Creative Producer
With over 15 years of experience in the Hollywood VFX industry, Sandhya provides multidisciplinary support from pre-production to post-production of VFX projects. She is instrumental in bringing ideas to life and strives to deliver outstanding and an on-time output. She is renowned for her expertise in creative supervision and quality control for various international projects, ensuring consistency and continuity across designated VFX sequences. Sandy has worked with award-winning VFX houses such as Rhythm & Hues Studios on projects such as Life of Pi, Golden Compass, Narnia, Percy Jackson, and The Incredible Hulk.

The story of Famous Studios, standing tall as a landmark of Mumbai’s dream industry was born from a similar dream. Set up in 1946, in pre-Independence India, it was a bold foray into the world of Indian cinema and television. Over the years, it evolved into a canvas for hundreds of artists for creating masterpieces with state-of-the-art equipment and expert technicians: a turnkey content solutions provider for anything that a business or film needs. Today the studios have spread into a sprawling 110,000 sq ft, to several locations across Mumbai to boost flexibility, and also to the hearts of industry folk. Famous Studios has been honoured with Dadasaheb Phalke and the Indian Motion Picture Association’s recognition for its outstanding contribution to Indian Cinema, in addition to dozens of other accolades and awards.
