The Milk team created 650 VFX shots for the series – spanning multiple creatures, effects and environments – with a five month post production turnaround- working in close collaboration with showrunner Gaiman and director Douglas Mackinnon throughout.

Equal parts humour and horror, fantasy and drama Good Omens made its debut on 31 May 2019 on Prime Video and will be broadcast on the BBC at a later date.

Good Omens stars Michael Sheen and David Tenant who play angel Aziraphale and demon Crowley respectively; Benedict Cumberbatch as Satan as well as Miranda Richardson, John Hamm and Jack Whitehall.

And here’s an official synopsis… “The End of the World is coming, which means a fussy Angel and a loose-living Demon who’ve become overly fond of life on Earth are forced to form an unlikely alliance to stop Armageddon.

But they have lost the Antichrist, an 11-year-old boy unaware he’s meant to bring upon the end of days, forcing them to embark on an adventure to find him and save the world before teatime.”

Speaking to reporters including Express.co.uk Neil Gaiman said he had to reinvent the story for television whilst trying to stay faithful to the millions of fans around the world who have read the book. “But I also wanted surprises and excitement,” he added.

Good Omens was filmed in London, Oxfordshire and locations in South Africa and was directed by Douglas Mackinnon
